Hello all. My name is Susan Beasley and I am the founder and owner of PrimaryGames.com. The recent events and changes that the world is now facing due to the coronavirus has hit us all is some way. As a mother with two daughters located just out side of Washington, DC, I’ve seen our world turn upside down in just a matter of days. Like many of you, I am struggling with how to keep my kids safe, happy, and entertained.
Twenty years ago, I started PrimaryGames as a free educational gaming site to supplement the lack of educational software in my first grade classroom. I taught at one of poorest schools in Fairfax County, Virginia and I wanted to create activities that would be free and available to everyone. The site has grown a lot since then with thousands of games, coloring pages, and worksheets.
With many of us now around the world finding ourselves hunkering down in our homes, I thought about what I could do to help. I know many of you are trying to keep your young children entertained and educated, but aren’t exactly sure where to begin. I thought I would start this blog with the goal of posting 5 activities a day that you could do with your kids. I hope this helps and wish you all well. We will get through this together.
